Application Guide

1. Prepare the Work Area

  • Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of dust or debris.
  • Cover floors, windows, and nearby objects with plastic sheeting or drop cloths.
  • Mask off areas you don’t want foam on using tape and cardboard.

2. Wear Protective Gear

  • Put on gloves, goggles, and a respirator mask to avoid skin/eye irritation and inhalation of fumes.

3. Shake the Canisters

  • Shake the foam kit canisters vigorously for 30–60 seconds to mix the components properly.

4. Test Spray (Optional)

  • Before applying, do a small test spray on cardboard to ensure proper foam expansion and consistency.

5. Apply the Foam

  • Hold the spray gun 12–18 inches from the surface.
  • Spray in slow, sweeping motions, applying thin layers (about 1–2 inches thick per pass).
  • Allow each layer to expand and cure (usually 5–10 minutes) before adding another.
  • For deep cavities, fill in 25–50% of the space, as foam expands significantly.

6. Trim Excess Foam (If Needed)

  • After full curing (typically 24 hours), use a utility knife to trim over-expanded foam for a smooth finish.

7. Clean Up

  • If using a disposable kit, discard it properly.
  • For reusable guns, use the provided cleaning solvent immediately after use.

Important Tips:

✔ Temperature matters: Ideal application temperature is 60–80°F (15–27°C). Cold surfaces can reduce expansion.
✔ Ventilate well: Open windows or use fans to disperse fumes.
✔ Don’t overfill: Foam expands 3–4x its initial volume (closed-cell expands less than open-cell).
✔ Store unused kits properly: Keep in a cool, dry place if saving for later.

When to Call a Professional?
